Hosting

A static site hosted by Hostinger International Ltd, 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus (hostinger.com). No database or application server: the site is made of static files served as-is.

Purpose

EtreCyber is a free educational resource: a digital-defense roadmap (checklist, toolbox, glossary) drawn from Christophe Mazzola’s book “Être en cybersécurité”.

Intellectual property

The content (action texts, tool selection, glossary) is drawn from the book “Être en cybersécurité” (© Christophe Mazzola / Éditions Spinelle) and remains his property.

• Allowed: personal reading, non-commercial use, partial reproduction without modification with a source credit (source: etrecyber.fr).
• Forbidden without written consent: full or modified reproduction, commercial or advertising reuse, association with misleading or unlawful content.

Liability

The advice is provided for educational purposes and in good faith. The publisher does not guarantee the permanent accuracy of the information and cannot be held liable for errors, omissions, or the content of third-party sites reachable through external links. You remain the sole judge of applying the advice to your situation.

Applicable law

This site is governed by Spanish law. In case of dispute, the courts of Las Palmas (Spain) have sole jurisdiction.

EtreCyber is built to practise what it preaches. It is a static site, with no account, no form and no newsletter: we collect no personal data on a server.

Your progress stays with you

Your progress (ticked boxes, adopted tools, light/dark theme, language, dismissed banner) is stored only in your browser’s local storage (localStorage). It never leaves your device and is never sent to us. To erase it, clear the site’s storage in your browser.

Cookieless analytics

We use Matomo, self-hosted and cookieless (“disableCookies” enabled), for aggregated, anonymous statistics (page views, general referrers). The “Do Not Track” signal is honoured. No individual profile is built.

No cookies

EtreCyber sets no cookies. The localStorage used for your progress is not a cookie and is not shared.

Third-party requests

• Fonts: self-hosted on our own server, never loaded from Google Fonts. No third-party request, no IP address sent to display them.
• Links to tools and share buttons (X, LinkedIn, WhatsApp): those services have their own policies. Nothing is sent to them until you click.
• No ad network, no third-party tracker, no data resale (we have none).

Your rights

Since we hold no identifying personal data on a server, there is nothing to access, rectify or delete on our side. Under the GDPR and the Spanish LOPDGDD, for any question write to contact@christophemazzola.fr. You may file a complaint with the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD), Calle Jorge Juan 6, 28001 Madrid, www.aepd.es.
